The Cardigan… Yes, has been a typical staple of preppy high
school students polo watching elitists and hipsters but, now Missoni has
created a cardigan for the neo-urban generation. Angela Missoni mixes
tradition with urban as she dresses young men with the famed Missoni
zigzag and other patterns for cardigans and pullovers and then layers
them with parkas and windbreakers. It is a typical street fair for
rappers and producers like Pharrell Williams and Kanye West who love to wear
preppy looks and add a touch of edge to each look. This season Missoni uses
their signature style for mass market appeal. Although the cardigan
has its moments of sweetness the collection offers a
big sense of holiday, specifically Christmas, and since we are still in the fumes of summer
we are not sure if that is a “good” or “bad” Missoni this year.
